The Wristwatch, 腕表
A watch is a timepiece that is made to be worn on a person's wrist, therefore the term wristwatch.
The wristwatch is worn with a strap or bracelet, and in some cases, jewellery.
For some, a wristwatch will serve its purpose by telling the wearer the time.
For some, a wristwatch is a statement, a representation of their choice and taste.
In addition to the time, modern watches often display the day, date, month, year, and in some complications, moon phase.
Today, electronic watches may have many other functions such as TV remote control, compass, mp3 players and even mobile phone.
Most inexpensive and medium-priced watches used mainly for timekeeping are electronic watches with quartz movement.
Pricier, collectible watches valued more for their workmanship and aesthetic appeal than for simple timekeeping, often have purely mechanical movements and are powered by springs. Even though mechanical movements are less accurate than more affordable quartz movements.
Before the wristwatch became possible in the 20th century, most watches were pocket watches, which often had covers and were carried in a pocket and attached to a watch chain. Wrist watches evolved in the 1600s from spring powered clocks, which appeared in the 1400s.
To me, every man and woman should at least own a decent piece of timepiece. You can live and travel still without a car. But you cannot not know the time.
Here, I would like to share some of what I have and what I like, and most importantly my interest. Enjoy browsing!

Mondaine Official Swiss Railway Watch
Mondaine Official Swiss Railways Watch - the Swiss time icon ingenuity and simplicity are the elements, which often distinguish an attractive piece of design from a truly iconic design classic. The Mondaine Official Swiss Railways watch is proud to be associated with such an example of excellent 20th century design.
The simple design, distinctive hands and the famous red seconds hand have made the Mondaine collection successful the world over. The unmistakable plain watch but interesingly tasteful.
In 1944, Hans Hilfiker, a Swiss Engineer and Designer and employee of the Federal Swiss Railways, created a clock, which has become known as the Official Swiss Railways Clock.
It is amazing just how long this design has endured and now it appears to take a place in the eternal hall of fame along side other well known design icons such as the Absolut Vodka bottle, the Mercedes Tri star, the Rolls Royce's Sprit of Ecstasy, or the design of the red and blue ying-yang of the Pepsi soda.
The domed, magnifying mineral glass makes for great readability of the legendary dial. A watch for anyone looking for an extraordinary piece of wristwatch, the black leather strap melds fluidly with the shapely, polished stainless steel watchcase. This is the style for those who value the Mondaine design and the ultimate in readability. In my opinion, this is for the arty-farty guy where style is part of them. This is also for those with bad eyesight, with a 42 mm watch face and an iconic red second hand, you’ll never miss a second! A simple, classic in-the-face watch for the modern dweller.

Luminox BMW Special Edition
Luminox is a brand of watches and clocks that use the tritium to illuminate the hands and numerals of its products. Luminox was specifically designed for United States Navy SEALs but it available to the public as well. Luminox also makes branded watches for various military groups with custom insignias and designs. What you see here is a BMW special edition. The Bavarian Marque has commissioned Luminox to create this one time special piece. Both being one of their industrial leaders collaborate to produce this exciting timepiece.
The tritium in a gaseous tritium light source undergoes beta decay, releasing electrons which cause the phosphor layer to fluoresce. During manufacture, a length of borosilicate glass tube which has had the inside surface coated with a phosphor-containing compound is filled with the radioactive tritium. The tube is then fused with a CO2 laser at the desired length. Borosilicate is used for its strength and resistance to breakage. In the tube, the tritium gives off a steady stream of electrons due to beta decay. These particles excite the phosphor, causing it to emit a low, steady glow. One could use any beta particle-emitting substance, but in practice tritium is preferred because it is not very hazardous.
If all these sound too technical, quite simply, your watch will glow for 20-25 years after the sun has set. Simple?
If it is fit for the US Navy SEALs, it is fit for you!

RXW Plasmir Milgraph
The name "ROCKX SOLID" means that the model is "solider than rock", and it is an original watch brand which Ken Sato, a well-known collector and buyer of sporty models such as Rolex, develops worldly and wide.
Because Sato loves the golden ages of good-old mechanical sporty models so much, he has been reviving former good models with the latest technologies. There have been many inquiries on the ROCKX SOLID series, which made its simultaneous debut in Europe and America on 2002, even after last year's sold out. Now the ROCKX SOLID has become a premium model, as it was knocked down with about $2000. While many Japanese people tend to select things only by its brand name, enthusiastic fans understand high-spec quality.
This new work has installed an original mechanical movement; modifying two legendary models designed in Swiss during 1960s ~ 1970s, the golden ages. Additionally, world's first (manufactured in 2002) dual structure (N-luminous) Plasmir dial, and mil-spec 3H gas light capsule (keeps on emitting over 20 years even after the sun disappears), which American military and their special forces formally adopts, are also installed in this model. The former lever type model had evolved into Quatro-lock screw down type crown & pusher, along with 1000 gauss super antimagnetic structure. The belt is dressed with luxurious Connolly Leather (hand stitched), the purveyor to the Royal Household, which is also known for the leather for Rolls Royce and Ferrari.
This newest military chronograph fascinates us even more than the former model. It is destined to attract great deal of attention not only from collectors in overseas, but also from the whole world over.
